On CNN’s State of The Union this morning, Jake Tapper asked Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook about sanctuary cities and his candidate considered them to be a problem.
“Secretary Clinton has released a comprehensive plan for immigration reform,” Mook began. “This is something she’s pledged to do in the first 100 days. We cannot have a situation where anybody is coming to this country illegally and committing crimes.”
But Mook did not ever explicitly answer Tapper’s question about Clinton’s position on sanctuary cities.
Looking for specifics, Tapper pressed Mook further, asking, “I’m not clear, though, does she want to end sanctuary cities or not?”
“That’s too narrow a view of the situation,” Mook told Tapper.
Tapper concluded the interview by saying, “Alright, I look forward to further clarity on the sanctuary cities issue specifically.”
Mook’s inability to answer another policy question follows an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe earlier this week in which he was unable to give a satisfactory answer to any of the questions he was asked.
