The conservative talk radio host made the predictions following House Republicans’ successful vote to repeal Obamacare.
Speaking with MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki on Thursday, conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt predicted that Republicans will expand their majorities in Congress if their replacement to Obamacare does, in fact, lower premiums for Americans.
“In 2018, if peoples’ premiums are down, and their deductibles are down, their coverage is better, and there are more choices, Republicans will not only win, they’ll expand their majority,” Hewitt said.
Hewitt pointed to the difficult Senate map Democrats will face in the upcoming midterm election.
“The field is still very uphill for the Democrats and if premiums start to come down because of this law passing, Republicans are going to get a majority that’s going to last for the rest of the decade,” he said.
