CNN’s Chris Cuomo gave a sympathetic interview to a polygamous group on “New Day” on Thursday, letting the group promote their arrangement.

Cuomo let the family explain their living situation to his audience.

“We actually are fine with not having a legal marriage certificate,” Vicki Darger, one of the wives in the group said. “We just actually would like the freedom as consenting adults to live as we choose to.”

The man of the arrangement spoke up, arguing relationship rights should expand beyond two people.

“I don’t think you can say that we allow consenting adults between two people. I think there are all kinds of people that have different arrangements in today’s society,” Joe Darger explained. “And to say, if you have more than one person, you’re somehow a criminal or that’s inherently bad is wrong.”

Another wife in the family told Cuomo that the government was “criminalizing adult sexual behavior.”

She described the fact that all of their children will grow up with four parents as “beautiful.”

Cuomo joked with the group that his viewers were sending him tons of questions from Twitter. He also described their group as “another side” of polygamy, implying it was good compared to other kinds of polygamous relationships.
