Sources say one of Trump’s most visible spokespersons has been “sidelined” for the time being…
“Yes, Gen. Flynn does enjoy the full confidence of the president,” White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told MSNBC last Monday afternoon.
By that evening, President Trump demanded and accepted the resignation of Michael Flynn, his now former National Security Adviser.
“How many times does she go out and say things that aren’t true?” MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski asked the next morning.
“Blatantly false!” her co-host Joe Scarborough interjected.
The morning news duo declared then and there that they would no longer have Conway as a guest on Morning Joe, and today a new report from CNN revealed that Conway has been “sidelined from television appearances for a week for making statements that were at odds with the administration’s official stance.”
Conway’s false statement about Flynn followed a series of missteps, including her claim that White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer offered “alternative facts,” a phrase which immediately launched a thousand mockeries on cable news and online.
