Is Tim Cook Sure He’s Not Running For President?

A look at the tech giant's recent tweets suggests that Cook might be planning a 2020 presidential run despite his claims to the contrary.

Apple CEO Tim Cook took a page out of President Trump’s playbook when he took to Twitter on Sunday to express his support for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA.

“250 of my Apple coworkers are #Dreamers. I stand with them. They deserve our respect as equals and a solution rooted in American values,” Cook tweeted.

The Apple CEO has dismissed the idea that he is running for President, but Cook’s Twitter feed reads like a pre-campaign recitation of ideological values.

For example, Cook offered condolences after the recent violence in Charlottesville, VA and seemed to blast the Trump’s handling of the situation in another tweet:

Then, after the recent terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain, Cook expressed condolences for those involved on Twitter in Spanish:

Cook’s tweet prompted USA Today’s Jessica Guynn‏ to tweet, “Tim Cook for president.”

Then there’s the matter of the string of tweets from events that Cook did in Iowa, Ohio, and Texas recently, which felt more like political campaign events than a business tour:
