The New York Times claims that the Comey didn’t visit their newsroom, but Comey might have been attending an event for abused children.
Fox and Friends reported on pictures that the Daily Mail published on Thursday, which showed of former FBI Director James Comey entering and exiting the New York Times’ building on Thursday night, during a panel discussion on Friday.
According to the Daily Mail:
“[Comey] spent almost three hours inside before emerging, having removed his sunglasses, to hail a cab.”
A spokesperson for the New York Times claims that Comey did not visit the Times‘ newsroom while he was in the building and that there are other businesses that are housed in the Times‘ building.
Fox News’ Ed Henry pointed out that some Times reporters tweeted that there is a law firm in the building that had an event for abused children on Thursday night and that Comey might have attended that event, but Henry noted that this had not been confirmed.
“So, it would just be a coincidence that [Comey] also leaked stuff to somebody who leaked to them,” Fox News’ Steve Doocy remarked.
