The former Obama staffer cast doubt on the 2016 presidential candidate’s claim.
Jen Psaki, President Obama’s White House Communications Director, expressed doubt on Hillary Clinton’s claim that she would have won the 2016 election if it had been held a day before FBI Director James Comey’s letter to Congress.
“We don’t really know that,” Psaki said.
Psaki claimed that misogyny, sexism, and Russia all played as factors in the 2016 election, but doubted to what extents.
“I’ve watched a lot of focus groups, and I’ve looked at a lot of polling over the years, and the perception of her was baked into the cake for about 10 years,” Psaki said.
The former Obama staffer said that focus group results from Obama/Trump voters were “alarming for Democrats.”
Those results found that voters saw Democrats as “fighting for rich people, fighting for the one percent.”
“If we don’t listen more,” Psaki said, “we’re going to keep losing.”
