Jimmy Kimmel opened the Oscars with an anti-Trump speech, during which he accused President Trump of being racist.

Jimmy Kimmel opened 89th Academy Awards with an anti-Trump speech, during which he accused President Trump of being racist and told the audience that 225 countries now hate America.

“I’m excited. I’ve never been to the Oscars before. this is my first time here and the way you people go through hosts is probably my last time here, so — I’m going to enjoy this while I’m here,” Kimmel joked.

“This broadcast is being watched live by millions of Americans and around the world in more than 225 countries that now hate us. And I think that is an amazing thing.”

Kimmel went on to say that he knew that country was divided at the moment, but did not think he was the person that could unite it but suggested the people to an listen to one another.

“But I want to say thank you to President Trump. Remember last year when it seemed like the Oscars were racist? That’s gone. Thanks to him,” Kimmel went on to tell the audience, which erupted in applause.
