MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough went off on members of the media and Democrats for their coverage of Tuesday night’s Senate showdown in which Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was not allowed to speak on the Senate floor during debate of Jeff Sessions’ nomination for attorney general.
MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski was reporting on the reaction from fellow Democrats regarding the matter when Scarborough interrupted, “Can I stop for a second?”
“I went back and saw the whole thing,” Scarborough began. “I don’t understand why everybody is reporting that [Warren] was stopped when she was reading the letter from Coretta Scott King because that’s actually not the case.”
“This story is bad enough for Republicans without them making things up,” Scarborough went on to say.
Scarborough went on to conclude, “This is one of these meddlesome fact checks. It’s not true. So media, please, you’ve got a good enough story here. You don’t have to exaggerate it.”
