The Judicial Crisis Network, in response to an earlier press conference opposing the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch, slammed Senate Democrats for “cherry-picking” Gorsuch’s rulings to fit their own agenda.
Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Patty Murray (D-WA), and Ed Markey (D-MA) held a press conference to criticize Gorsuch’s “anti-worker, pro-corporate record.”
Carrie Severino, chief counsel of the Judicial Crisis Network, released a statement arguing that the senators are bowing to the wishes of their party’s far-left wing:
“Sens. Murray, Merkley and Markey have made it apparent they are more interested in playing trivial political games to cater to the extreme left wing of their party and creating gridlock in Washington than getting the Supreme Court back to full capacity for the spring term.”
Severino’s statement also notes several rulings of Gorsuch’s against corporations and major industries.
Senator Merkley called Gorsuch an “extreme right-wing judge,” who has used his decisions to change the Constitution from “We the People” to “We the Powerful.”
