Former Obama Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro said Tuesday in an appearance on MSNBC: “I’m never going to take anything off the table,” after being asked about a possible presidential run in 2020.
“As the years go by, I’m going to look and see how politics develops. I hope that Donald Trump is successful for America, but what he’s doing so far doesn’t give me a lot of confidence,” Castro said.
Castro pointed out, however, that “we haven’t even gotten to 2018, much less 2020,” indicating that he would not make a decision anytime soon.
Political commentators have floated the possibility of Castro challenging Trump in four years.
