The Boy Scouts announced Wednesday that they would allow girls to join.
MSNBC host Katy Tur told viewers on Wednesday that she wanted to be a Boy Scout when she was a little girl, in the wake of reports that the Boy Scouts of America would start to admit girls to their ranks.
“The little girl version of myself loves this story so much because I wanted to be in the Boy Scouts, racing cars and building forts and not planting trees with the Girl Scouts,” Tur said.
“No shade to the Girl Scouts – I was just the kind of girl who liked to build forts and race cars,” she added.
It’s not clear if Tur understands that environmentalism and things like “planting trees” are an important part of the Boy Scout creed.
