DNC Chair candidate Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) was unable to give President Donald Trump credit for halting the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), which both men agree on. However, Ellison during his interview with CNN’s “New Day” was more than willing to criticize Trump for the so-called Mexico City Policy.
CNN’s Alisyn Camerota called Ellison out on his hypocrisy saying, “You will criticize him for the policies that you disagree with but you will never give him credit for those that you agree with.”
Camerota pressed Ellison multiple times on why he was unable to give President Trump credit for stopping TPP, an issue that united Trump supporters and progressive Democrats during the 2016 election.
“I think because the people who raise their voices over the course of years that brought us about brought about this policy. I want to give the people credit. That’s what I believe in,” Ellison told Camerota.
