Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MI) called the results of the Georgia 6th Congressional District special election a “disappointment” at an event at the University of Minnesota on Wednesday.
Ellison said that every time a candidate doesn’t win is a “disappointment,” but spoke as if Ossoff’s campaign had ended.
“We had a good candidate in Jon Ossoff. And he ran hard. And he did really well,” Ellison said, all in the past tense.
Ellison added that it will be “very tough” for Ossoff to pull out a win in the runoff due to the Republican nature of the district.
