“Zero concern. That is complete fiction, that is complete fabrication,” Conway said about stories that Pence would challenge Trump in 2020.
Counselor to President Trump, Kellyanne Conway told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that there is zero concern that Vice President Mike Pence is planning to challenge Trump in the 2020 Republican presidential primary during an interview on Sunday.
Stephanopoulos asked Conway about a New York Times article that claims Republicans including Pence are planning a shadow campaign against Trump in 2020.
“It is absolutely true that the Vice President is getting ready for 2020 for reelection as Vice President,” Conway told Stephanopoulos dismissing the idea that Pence was in any way plotting a primary challenge to Trump.
Stephanopoulos followed up by asking Conway to confirm that there is zero concern from the Trump camp that Pence is setting up a shadow campaign to challenge Trump in 2020.
“Zero concern. That is complete fiction, that is complete fabrication,” Conway emphatically responded.
