Classic rock-and-roll artist Tom Petty has died at the age of 66.
Petty and his band, the Heartbreakers, are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Petty was a legend of the genre, responsible for hits that became household names, like “Free Fallin’,” “Runnin’ Down a Dream,” “I Won’t Back Down,” and “Wildflowers.”
Petty’s last public performance was only a week ago, as he wrapped up a tour with his band at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California. Petty played 18 songs, including some of his top hits.
