Protesters attended the hearing to show their displeasure with the power vested in Trump.

Protesters wore anti-Trump and anti-nuclear messaging to a Senate Foreign Relations hearing on Tuesday, a hearing where the committee would consider the president’s authority to launch nuclear weapons.

As Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) offered his thoughts on possible doomsday scenarios, C-SPAN cameras caught the protesters sitting in the audience.

Wearing red t-shirts and surgical masks, the messages on the protesters clothes objected to America’s nuclear power. “Fire & Fury” read one mask, referencing President Trump’s threat to North Korea amid escalating tensions between the two countries.

“Stop Nuclear War,” read another mask, a typical refrain of the anti-nuclear left.
