Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) discussed Jeff Sessions’ meetings with the Russian ambassador on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, saying that contact between senators and ambassadors is not unusual.
“That’s what ambassadors do. I mean, I meet with dozens of ambassadors a year and I run into them all the time,” Rubio said. “That’s what they do. They are out there, trying to reach people and talk to them.”
“It is not usual for a member of the Senate to meet with an ambassador,” Rubio added.
