Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said that she is willing to discuss the possibility of impeaching President Trump just three weeks into the new president’s term.
MSNBC’s Ali Velshi asked Waters about comments she had previously made in which she said, “My greatest desire is to lead [Donald Trump] right into impeachment.”
Velshi also brought up a statement from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in which she already dismissed this extreme rhetoric.
“This is the most outrageous and ridiculous president that this country has ever had,” Waters told Velshi.
As for Pelosi’s comments, Waters said, “All that Nancy Pelosi said was that she was not ready yet to talk about impeachment. I’m ready to talk about it because I do believe that he has shown us enough and defined himself in ways that we have to be suspicious and concerned about him and we’ve got to dig deeper.”
Waters went on to suggest the possibility of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia with regards to the DNC hacks.
“I believe that he’s leading himself right to impeachment,” Waters concluded.
