Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) told reporters today that President Trump’s actions will eventually lead to him being impeached by the United States Congress.
A reporter asked Waters about comments she had previously made where she said, “my greatest desire is to lead [Donald Trump] right into impeachment.”
“I have not called for the impeachment yet. He’s doing it himself,” Waters told the reporter. “I think that he is leading himself into that kind of position where folks will begin to ask ‘what are we going to do?’ And the answer is going to be: eventually we’ve got to do something about him. We can not continue to have a president who is acting in this manner. It is dangerous to the United States of America.”
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had to jump in and clean up after Waters’ comments, saying she does not believe that anything President Trump has done is grounds for impeachment.
