The House Majority Leader praised President Trump for being so hands on in getting Obamacare repeal through the House.
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) praised President Trump on Thursday for how involved he was in getting the Republican plan to replace Obamacare through the House.
“You know, I have only been through a few presidents, but I’ve never seen someone so hands-on,” McCarthy told the crowd assembled at the White House.
McCarthy then told a story about how President Trump called McCarthy’s office only yesterday and provided him with a list of representatives that Trump thought still needed persuading.
“And he was right,” McCarthy laughed, “and Mr. President, they all voted for the bill.”
McCarthy concluded by saying, “we are going to unshackle, build an economy, let people have greater choice in their health care, and protect pre-existing conditions.”
From here the Obamacare repeal bill moves to the Senate, where it will face considerable opposition from Democrats.
