McConnell: Trump Not Getting Enough Credit

The Senate majority leader defended the president on Sunday.

Responding to President Trump’s dissatisfaction with his stalled agenda, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday that the president was not getting enough credit for his accomplishments.

“I think he’s getting a lot more done than he’s giving everybody credit for,” McConnell said. “His appointments, as I said earlier, are absolutely changing the country.”

The Senate majority leader specifically praised the president’s judicial nominations as a major success.

“The president ought to give himself a little more credit for the changes that he is bringing about that are turning the country in a different direction,” he added.

McConnell also said that the president’s plans for tax reform and economic growth would help the U.S. economy boom.
