The vice president has a harsh message for Republicans who aren’t on board with the GOP plan.
Vice President Mike Pence delivered a stern message to those Republicans who have waffled on and opposed GOP efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare in a speech to the National Retail Federation on Tuesday.
“President Trump and I fully support the Majority Leader’s decision to move forward with a bill that just repeals Obamacare and gives Congress time, as the president said, to work on a new health care plan,” Pence told the gathering.
Pence pointed out that the Senate passed the same bill in 2015, and “they should do it again.”
“Congress needs to step up. Congress needs to do their job. And Congress needs to do their job now,” he said.
As for the failed effort to repeal and replace the 2010 health care law at the same time, Pence described “most” of the Senate Republicans as “loyal, terrific, and worked really hard.”
