Vice-President elect Mike Pence responded to Rep. John Lewis’ (D-GA) claim that Donald Trump is not a legitimate president because of Russian interference.
“Donald Trump won this election fair and square. Thirty of 50 states, more counties than any Republican candidate since Ronald Reagan. The American people know that,” Pence told Fox News’ Chris Wallace. “While I have great respect for John Lewis, for his contributions particularly in the civil rights movement, I was deeply disappointed to see someone of his stature question the legitimacy of Donald Trump’s election as president.”
Pence went on to say “we’ve even had recounts in this election where the numbers for the president-elect have actually gone up.”
