The treasury secretary expects hard numbers in the next month.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin told CNBC in an interview on Thursday that he expected tax reform to reach President Trump’s desk by the end of the year.
“Originally, our goal had been August,” Mnuchin said. “Unfortunately things got delayed a bit.”
“We’re on track to get this done by the end of the year,” he said.
Mnuchin then added that details on the tax plan would come out “later this month,” presumably meaning September.
The president has been going all in on the tax reform push, pressuring red state Democrats to join Republicans in their efforts.
