Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook appeared on CNN to talk about the upcoming presidential debate. CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Mook if he thought debate moderator, Lester Holt, should act as fact-checker during the debate.
“I think there is a role for the moderator just to call it out quickly if someone is saying something that’s patently untrue,” Mook told Tapper.
Mook concluded, “Most importantly, you can’t get a passing grade when you lie, and you can’t get a passing grade when you don’t have a command of the issues.”
Hopefully, Mook stands by this statement if Holt corrects Clinton about never receiving nor sending any material that was marked classified, a claim Clinton has often made but has been rated as false by PolitiFact.
