On Monday, Bill Clinton called Obamacare “the craziest thing in the world,” at an event in Michigan. These remarks got the former president into a considerable amount of trouble with Obama loyalists and a host of unwanted press attention.
The panel on MSNBC’s Morning Joe seemed dumbfounded by Clinton’s
comments, often laughing out loud when talking about them. “Did you see the Bill Clinton thing, on Obamacare, what is he thinking,” Joe Scarborough roared.
Scarborough went on to say, “This guy, he needs Barack Obama more than anybody else in the world if he wants his wife to be elected President of the United States. If you get one person to campaign for Hillary Clinton, it would be Barack Obama. And [Clinton] just laid a gigantic hand grenade right at the feet of the campaign.”
Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin called this gaffe a, “Clinton classic.”
Meanwhile, NBC’s Willie Geist pointed out that in Clinton’s attempt to clean up his remarks, he pointed to small business that are struggling under the law.
“Everybody has known, I mean, he has certainly told people close [to him] he does not like Barack Obama,” Scarborough concluded. “He’s never liked Barack Obama.”
