Hillary Clinton and her campaign have been reluctant to accept the results of the 2016 presidential election, blaming their stunning loss on FBI Director James Comey and Russian hacking.
On Wednesday, The Huffington Post‘s Sam Stein reported there isn’t any evidence that supports the Clinton campaign’s claims that Comey’s letter impacted the election.
“Comey definitely played a role for some of these people, but it wasn’t necessarily the determinative role that is being portrayed,” Stein told the panel on “Morning Joe.”
Stein cited several examples of people deciding, at the last minute, not to vote for Clinton for factors other than the Comey letter.
“The reality is there – mistakes were made, and they lost. And there has been a lot of grappling with what role the campaign may have played in that. I am not sure – they seem to have settled on Comey as the reason, I am not convinced it’s the only one,” NBC Kasie Hunt chimed in.
