“Let’s talk about this Trump family because it’s not just him… I call them the Romanovs,” Matthews remarked on Wednesday.
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Wednesday compared the Trump family to the Russian royal family the Romanovs during the 2017 Aspen Ideas Festival.
“Let’s talk about this Trump family because it’s not just him, he comes in an entourage. I call them the Romanovs,” Matthews said during a panel discussion that he was moderating. “They move together, they don’t move as one. He shows up, and you look quickly [and] there’s Ivanka. She’s always there, and there’s Jared looking perfect.”
The Romanovs were the last royal family, and their Bolshevik captors brutally executed them, marking one of the most seminal events of the 20th century, which eventually lead to the creation of the Soviet Union.
