The appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller to serve as special counsel quickly received support from both Democrats and Republicans.
The announcement that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has appointed Robert Mueller to serve as special counsel to oversee the Trump-Russia quickly drew praise from both sides of the aisle.
Appearing in a joint interview on MSNBC after the announcement was made Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) and Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) both praised Rosenstein’s choice of Mueller.
MSNBC’s Brian Williams asked Quigley and Stewart for their reaction to the decision.
“I actually think it’s a good idea,” Stewart told Williams.
Quigley told Williams that this is “evidence that bipartisan cooperation and agreement can exist.”
“The fact that this is now taken out of the hands of any reasons to question it, a good person I think chosen for this,” Quigley concluded.
