House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed that ObamaCare was working despite being confronted with evidence that contradicts that statement during an interview on CBS’s This Morning on Tuesday.
CBS’s Anthony Mason asked Pelosi about premiums increasing 25 percent under ObamaCare in 2017 and whether this meant that ObamaCare had failed to deliver on one of its principle promises to make healthcare more affordable.
“The Affordable Care Act, in some instances there will be some increases, not across the board. But in some instances, there will be increases,” Pelosi admitted.
“The goal of the Affordable Care Act was to do three things: to improve benefits, to expand coverage as to who is included, and to lower costs. It has succeeded in every one of those things.”
However, ObamaCare is anything but affordable, despite Pelosi’s claim. It has been reported that under ObamaCare, 31 states are expected to see their premiums rise by double digits in 2017. Only two states are expected to see premiums decrease.
