The House Minority Leader said in the same sentence that Comey was in the wrong job, but should not have been fired.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was confronted Monday night at a CNN town hall over Democrats’ hypocrisy on the dismissal of FBI Director James Comey.
One attendee pointed out that Democrats had opposed Comey prior to the election, but then opposed his firing when President Trump did it.
“I said I thought that he wasn’t well suited to the heat that comes with the job, but I never said that he should be fired,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi then alleged that Trump fired Comey in order to hinder the investigation into the connections between the Trump campaign and Russian intelligence.
