The Senate Leadership Fund is blasting the Missouri senator for her lie about never meeting the Russian ambassador.
The Senate Leadership Fund (SLF) released a new ad on Wednesday attacking Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) for her lies regarding meetings with the Russian ambassador.
Splicing Soviet and Russian imagery alongside images of McCaskill and her tweets, the ad further illustrates McCaskill’s lie. One frame shows a McCaskill tweet, directly referencing a meeting she had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, next to a photograph of the two officials meeting.
“What she said in this tweet was false. McCaskill did meet the ambassador,” a news anchor narrates.
McCaskill had claimed in March that she had never met the Russian ambassador, but the facts told a different story. She had previously tweeted about a meeting between herself and the ambassador and also attended a black-tie reception at the his home.
