Obama: Chicago Is A “Strange Exception” When It Comes To Gun Violence

President Obama agreed to a round of interviews with local Chicago television stations on Thursday to discuss his farewell address, scheduled for Tuesday, January 10.

ABC Chicago’s Judy Hsu asked Obama about the historic levels of gun violence that has gripped the city of Chicago in recent years.

“I have assigned my Justice Department to work with the mayor’s office and the police department. Ironically, what you have seen across the country is historically low rates of violence in our city. Chicago is the strange exception,” Obama told Hsu.
