The former president is unhappy that the GOP is trying to undo his signature legislation.
Former President Obama criticized Republicans for trying to repeal his signature legislative accomplishment, the Affordable Care Act, at a Bill Gates-sponsored young leadership event on Wednesday.
Obama said that new GOP health care reform efforts would hurt vulnerable Americans like cancer patients and children with autism.
“It is aggravating,” he said of GOP efforts. He also blasted the Republicans for a lack of a Congressional Budget Office score on the current plan and “plain, common sense rationale.
“It’s certainly frustrating to have to mobilize every couple of months to keep our leaders from inflicting real, human suffering on our constituents,” the former president added.
Since Obama signed the act into law, Democrats have lost over 1,000 legislative seats around the country, an anti-liberal groundswell that started with the bill’s passage.
