Former Obama State Department spokesman John Kirby praised President Trump on CNN on Wednesday for signing the Russia sanctions bill sent to him by Congress.
“If [Trump] signed this bill, to me, that was proof enough in my mind that he was willing to hold Russia accountable, so I’m glad he signed it,” Kirby, a former admiral, said.
Kirby added that he understands the president’s concerns regarding the constitutionality of the limits that the bill placed on his powers.
