Oops: NY Times Publishes Parody Tweet as Official N. Korea Response, Corrects

The New York Times had some egg on its face after it accidentally attributed a parody tweet to the actual North Korean regime.


The New York Times mistook a tweet from a North Korea parody account as an actual response from the Kim regime, according to a correction issued by the Times on Tuesday.

The Free Beacon‘s Alex Griswold pointed out the correction in a Wednesday tweet:

The account, DPRK News Service (@DPRK_News), is a popular Twitter parody account with over 200,000 followers.

The tweet in question accused “[i]mbecilic Americans” of “drunkenly” firing missiles into the “East Sea of Korea:”
