Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) told reporters on Tuesday that House Republicans are determined to repeal ObamaCare this year because it is not what the American people were promised.
“It’s also why we’re working to repeal and replace ObamaCare, to help people who are struggling with these higher premiums, to help people who have lost their plan or their doctor or both,” Ryan told reporters.
Ryan went on to say about-about ObamaCare: “This was not what the country was promised, far from it. More and more, we see things getting worse. More and more, we see this law collapsing in front of us.”
Ryan said House Republicans were conducting a rescue mission, “to rescue the American health care system from the collapse that is coming because of ObamaCare.”
Getting Tom Price confirmed as HHS Secretary is something Ryan told reporters was essential to getting ObamaCare fixed.
“That is why we’re going to do this step by step and do this right and replace it with something that is far better for families, far better for patients,” Ryan concluded.
