Was the House minority leader paying attention when Scott Pruitt promised to clean up over 1,300 toxic waste sites?
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) attacked President Trump’s budget for “gutting the EPA” and preventing the cleanup of hazardous substances during a press briefing on Thursday. It would appear, though, that Pelosi missed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt’s promise to clean up over 1,300 toxic waste sites the other day.
“The president is gutting the EPA and slashing funding for cleaning up hazardous substances and enforced cutting funds for clean air and clean water,” Pelosi told reporters.
However, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Scott Pruitt, promised to clean up the more than 1,300 toxic waste sites that were left behind by President Obama during an interview on Wednesday.
Pruitt appeared on Fox and Friends to discuss the EPA’s plan to clean up these sites, many of which pose significant health risks to Americans that are living near them. Pruitt said it was a top priority of the Trump administration to get these sites clean.
It seems that Pelosi’s attack would be better aimed at the Obama administration, which left behind these 1,300 toxic waste dumps.
