House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she believes there is room in the Democratic Party for people who are pro-life, during an interview on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday.
NBC’s Chuck Todd asked Pelosi about Omaha, NE, Democratic mayoral candidate Heath Mello who received considerable backlash from pro-choice Democrats over his pro-life views. Todd asked if there was room inside the party for people who were pro-life.
At first, Pelosi sounded as if she did not want to answer the question telling Todd that he should ask DNC Chair Tom Perez instead. Pelosi did eventually concede though that there is room inside the Democratic Party for people who hold pro-life views.
