On Tuesday, during an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Vice President-elect Mike Pence was asked about General Mike Flynn’s son’s involvement in the campaign’s transition.
General Flynn’s son, Michael G. Flynn, has come under considerable criticism in recent days for promoting “pizzagate,” a conspiracy theory that resulted in a shooting at Comet Ping Pong restaurant in Washington, DC.
“Well, General Flynn’s son has no involvement in the transition whatsoever,” Pence told the panel.
Mike Barnicle correctly pointed out that Flynn’s son has a transition email. Pence reiterated that Flynn’s son has no involvement in the transition.
MSNBC’s Joe Scarbourgh pressed Pence on this point.
“So, you are saying as the head of the transition that Flynn’s son is not involved at all in the transition?” Scarborough asked.
“No, he’s not,” Pence again reemphasized to the panel.
