“This budget, if I can be honest with you, it is an attempt to implement ethnic cleansing in this nation,” Bishop Dwayne Royster told a crowd gathered outside the U.S Capitol building.
Dwayne Royster, a pastor at Living Water United Church of Christ in Philadelphia, called President Trump’s budget “an attempt to implement ethnic cleansing” in America. He made the remarks during a House Democrats press conference on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building on Wednesday.
“This budget if I can be honest with you, it is an attempt to implement ethnic cleansing in this nation from people of color but also from poor white folk,” Royster told the crowd.
“President Trump and his surrogates have used dog whistle language to speak about race in negative ways and create fear in the hearts of Americans,” Royster said.
House Democratic Leadership put together this press conferences and included speeches from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD)
