Just days after news broke that the FBI would be re-opening its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email practices, top officials from the Clinton campaign went on the Sunday shows to attack FBI Director James Comey.
These new lines of attack on Comey follow months of praise from the Clinton campaign directed towards the FBI director for his handling of the investigation
On CNN’s “State of the Union,” Clinton campaign chair John Podesta was asked about previous statements of praise made by Tim Kaine regarding Comey.
“This was an unprecedented action. It broke with policy of Democratic and Republican Justice Departments. It was done over the advice of senior Justice Department officials,” an irritated Podesta told CNN’s Jake Tapper.
Podesta went on to say, “I think that the Justice Department has had a long tradition of not interfering in an election coming 11 days before the election. And as I said yesterday, it was long on innuendo, short on facts. So we’re calling on Mr. Comey to come forward, explain what’s at issue here.”
