According to a Gravis Marketing poll, Republican Greg Gianforte leads Democrat Rob Quist by double digits…
A new poll in Montana’s at-large congressional race shows Democrat Rob Quist trailing Republican Greg Gianforte by 14 points, 49-35.
Gravis Marketing released the new poll just two days before voters head to the polls in the May 25 special election.
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chair Ben Ray Lujan called the race a “tough path” for Democrats, according to a Washington Post reporter.
The Gravis poll echoes another poll released by the firm last month, which showed a 12-point lead, 52-37, for Gianforte. An Emerson College poll, also released in April, showed a 15-point lead for Gianforte, 50-38.
Quist has endured several weeks of negative headlines, particularly regarding his personal finances. The Democrat failed to report his accurate income and a rental property on tax forms. This led one Montana newspaper editorial board to blast Quist as someone who is “unable to tell the truth.”
