President Donald Trump guaranteed on Tuesday that a border wall with Mexico will be built in his first term.
A reporter asked Trump if he will sign a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government that doesn’t include funding for a border wall.
“The wall is going to get built, folks,” Trump told reporters. “The wall is going to stop drugs, and it’s going to stop a lot of people from coming in that shouldn’t be here, and it’s going to have a huge effect on human trafficking, which is a tremendous problem.”
Trump concluded by saying, “the wall gets built. One hundred percent.”
A reporter followed up by asking if the wall will get built in Trump’s first term.
“Yeah. We have plenty of time. A lot of time,” Trump told the reporter.
