President Trump, surrounded by small business leaders, signed a new executive order Monday morning that mandated that the federal government must eliminate two regulations for every new one it created.
“This will be the largest ever cut, by far, in terms of regulation,” Trump said right before signing the order.
“If you have a regulation you want, number one, we’re not going to approve it, because it’s probably been approved probably in 17 different forms, but if we do…you have to knock out two regulations for every new regulation.”
One small business leader thanked the president for his action, saying small business had been “buried in a tidal wave of red tape.”
