In President Trump’s first speech to the country, he told the American people, “We are transferring power from Washington, DC and giving it back to you, the people.”
This line was met with thunderous applause from the thousands gathered in front of the United States Capitol Building.
“For too long, a small group in our nation’s capital have reaped the rewards of government while the people has born the cost,” Trump continued. “Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed.”
“That all changes starting right here and right now because this moment is your moment,” Trump concluded. “It belongs to you.”
