Protesters lost it when Sen. Mitch McConnell motioned to bring a vote on moving the health care debate forward on Tuesday.
The Senate is scheduled to vote on moving health care bill forward on Tuesday, but after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) motioned to bring the bill forward protesters in the Senate gallery started chanting “kill the bill, don’t kill us.”
After McConnell had called for the yeas and nays on the bill, protesters erupted into chants of “kill the bill, don’t kill us,” and “shame, shame, shame.”
Sen Rob Portman (R-OH) tried to quiet the crowd by using the gavel and calling on the Senate’s Sergeant at Arms to restore order in the chamber.
