Hillary Clinton is hoping to raise small-dollar donations from the controversy around Matt Lauer’s performance as moderator, despite Lauer’s past ties to the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI).
On Thursday, the Clinton campaign sent out a fundraising email blasting Matt Lauer for not fact-checking Donald Trump at last night’s Commander-in-Chief Forum:
NTK Network previously covered the spate of bad coverage for Lauer’s rough night.
Of course, Clinton’s fundraising email doesn’t disclose Lauer’s once-extensive ties to CGI.
The Federalist’s Sean Davis pointed out as much:
Clinton's tax-exempt slush fund listed Matt Lauer as a "notable member." Now she's pretending he's the Spanish Inquisition reborn. Puhlease.
