#QuickTake: President-elect Trump Settles Scores on Twitter

The president-elect spent his Saturday morning tweeting barbs at plaintiffs in the Trump University lawsuit and the cast of Broadway’s “Hamilton.”

President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to continue tweeting after he takes the oath of office in January 2017, saying it “get[s] the word out.”

Trump, indeed, seemed intent on getting the word out on Saturday morning, offering rebuttals to two negative stories for his team that developed on Friday.

First was Trump’s settlement of “a series of lawsuits” regarding his “defunct for-profit education venture, Trump University.” Trump agreed to settle with plaintiffs in New York and California for a total of $25 million.

On Saturday, Trump insisted on Twitter that he only settled because he’s too busy running the country:

Then came VP-elect Mike Pence’s rough night on Broadway. The audience booed Pence when he arrived at the show, and the cast addressed him in its curtain call by saying they’re “alarmed and anxious” about the new administration.
